WWII German M1911 K98 Rifle Ammunition Pouch - Late Pattern Gallery
This type of pattern features short vertical belt straps riveted to the lower back, steel fittings, and rivets.

Black pebbled leather with steel rivets on lid straps and pocket bottoms. Traces of the feld-gray paint remains on the equipment ring. All dividers are present. The pouch has lost some of it's original shape, especially at the lid ends.

Black pebbled leather with all steel hardware. All ammunition clip dividers are present. Peddled leather pocket bottom liners. Pocket bottoms, lid corners, and lid straps are riveted. Equipment ring loop is triangular and secured with a flattened oval shaped reinforcement plate and a single rivet with washer below.(20080510)
The zeltbahn that can be seen in the images was also made by E.G. Leuner in 1942. The maker mark for this shelter quarter can be seen below the K98 pouch.
The city of Bautzen is located on the Spree River near the eastern border of Germany. The Battle of Bautzen was fought here between April 21 and April 26 in what was the last successful German armored counter-offensive in WWII.
Late pattern pouch with all steel fittings, black pebbled leather. About 50% of the gray paint remains on the pocket posts. All dividers are present. The condition of this pouch is rough with a broken right pocket strap. The equipment loop is broken and allows the steel hook to be removed. "LAGO" in manufacturer stamp stands for "Landes Lieferungs Genossenschaft".
Wien (German translation) or Vienna is the capital of Austria in the northeast part of the country on the Danube River. It was frequently bombed during World War II by the Allies, and the city was taken by Soviet troops in 1945. (20070210)
