These are K98 ammo pouches in my collection that are Heer truppenteil (army unit) marked. These are shown here sorted by year.
1935
Chocolate brown pebbled leather with all dividers missing. All of the hardware is aluminum. Pouch is unit marked 14./J.R.35 under the lids of center and right pockets (14th Kompanie / Infanterie-Regiment 35). Translated from WorldLingo.
Formed on 1 October 1934 as an infantry regiment in Tübingen, Germany and was part of the 25th Infantry Division. On 15 October 1935 was renamed the 35th Infantry Regiment. On 15 February 1940 had II as I./515 to the 294th (Infantry Division?). It was subsequently replaced. Unit marked to inside of middle lid is the designation, "2./M.G.31 1 ", 2nd Machine Gun Kompanie / 31st Regiment. Also stamped to the right of unit impression is a "K35" in a rectangle. Light brown pebbled leather with all dividers present. Very nice example of an early German Patronentaschen 98K with a sharp, well defined maker stamp and date. Typical of early pouches, all of the hardware is aluminum.
This pouch has an interesting history as it was once in the massive K98 pouch collection of Kim Henvig of Denmark in 2006, was sold as part of that collection to Henrik in Germany and made it's way to the Collectors Guild in Canada. Picked up by Rick Diehl in Florida and finally made it in my collection in 2008. (20080129)

Natural pebbled leather dyed black. Smooth leather on two vertical belt straps and equipment ring mount. Backside has trace of black dye except area under belt straps is original brown leather. Belt straps appear to have never been slipped under lower retainers. All aluminum hardware. Maker mark text in straight line. Two of the three pocket lids are impression stamped with the unit "8./J.R.8 I". Ink stamp of "B36" inside middle lid. Illegible handwritting inside pocket lids; possibly a soldiers name. (20080909)
Dark brown pebbled leather with smooth leather on two vertical belt straps and equipment ring mount. The vertical belt straps show signs of having been on a belt. They also are slipped under the lower retainers. All dividers present, outside rivet of left pocket is pulled from leather. All of the hardware is aluminum and most is unpainted, only the rivets for the dividers are painted black. Maker mark text is in straight line except for top line which is in an arch. Different markings are under each of the three pocket lids. Left pocket has a strong pressed stamp unit marking of "9./A.R.8" (9th Kompanie, Artillerie-Regiment 8). The middle pocket has an ink inventory stamp "? 36", most likely "B 36".
1937
Brown pebbled leather dyed black. All dividers missing, smooth leather on belt straps and equipment ring mount. Maker mark text is circled around a large "S". Interesting to note that the maker stamp has been done twice and each stamp is 180 degrees from the other. This makes it difficult to read text around logo. All black painted aluminum fittings indicating a Russian capture pouch. Stamped impression inside middle pocket lid is unit marked "3./J.R.74 / I" 3rd Kompanie / Infanterie-Regiment 74.

On 1. February 1940 became the ii. battalion as I./517 295. Infantry division abgegen. On 26. October 1940 it was reorganised into the Infantry Regiment 74, III. and became Battalion as a i./infantry regiment 112 delivered.(20080118-01)
Dark brown pebbled leather. Missing all dividers, smooth leather on belt straps and equipment ring mount. Maker mark text is circular shaped around year. All unpainted aluminum fittings. Large font illegible impression inside of middle lid "? 37" and on the inside of center lid strap what appears to be "I.H.K.dtr.Wde". The letters "I H K W" are clear but the others are harder to read because of the unfinished leather. Right strap has a two line illegible impression. This maker has been known to also make binocular cases.
The city of Hamburg, Germany was bombed extensively during the war. These raids and the terrible firestorm that resulted from the July 27, 1943 bombing is detailed on Wikipedia. The July bombing stunned even the Nazi leadership. (20060827)
